Grafio App Review
As soon as you open Grafio, you know straight away that you are using a quality app. You’re greeted with tutorials in image and video format that explain the process of creating and editing. It’s well worth viewing as the app has a lot of features that you may not be aware of otherwise. But if you skip it by accident or just don’t want to watch it right away, you can find it in the settings of the app at any time.
The main benefit of Grafio is the use of vector graphics. These are essentially icons, shapes etc. that can be resized infinitely whilst still retaining crisp, sharp edges. So in Grafio, you don’t have to worry about blurry or pixelated objects when printing or viewing on a big screen.
The highlight of the app is how it handles your freehand strokes. When drawing lines or boxes, the app automatically straightens or closes off shapes without you having to perfect it yourself. In our tests, it correctly recognised squares, triangles, circles and ellipses but struggled with complex shapes like hexagons or diamonds. If you then wanted to annotate or write using your handwriting, turn off ’Shape Recognition’ in the settings.
The app also includes an extensive library of pre-drawn shapes that you can drag into your documents. These are sorted into categories such as Arrows, Doodles and Balloons, and like anything else in the app, you can change the size and colour as needed. For more specific shapes, check out the store where you can buy additional packs for a small in-app purchase.
There is a free version of Grafio that you can try out, called Grafio Lite. It has a lot of the same features but your exported documents are covered in watermarks. Nonetheless, it’s a great way to trial the app and see what you think!
