iTunes U App Review
What first strikes you about iTunes U is the sheer size of content available. There’s over 350,000 educational audio and video files from top universities, museums and public media organisations from around the world. Instead of costly tuition fees, content from Oxford, Harvard and Stanford, are all accessible on your iPad, for free.
So what can you do with iTunes U? Well, teachers can check in with the latest episode of Harvard EdCast where they discuss the topic of education twice a month. Or there’s seminars from Yale University, that discuss the diagnosis and assessment of autism.
In addition to learning, iTunes U can also be used to create your own courses. You can then invite students to enrol in your course and they’ll receive push notifications whenever you add a new assignment. No matter what subject you teach, or where you teach it, you can privately distribute your course to all your students, for free. To learn more about it and sign up, head over to the official iTunes U page.
