Another way of practising fractions whilst improving your memory.
Suitable for: KS1/KS2Price: £1.49
Fraction Match is similar to a classic memory game where you turn over cards, remember their location and hope that you find a matching pair. Where Fraction Match differs is that memory is only a part of the game.
Fraction Match has two game modes that can be played with either one or two players:
Game One – In the first game, players will match pairs of fraction cards so that the fractions on the two cards add up to one whole.
Game Two – In the second game, players will match pairs of fraction cards that have equivalent fractions.
Both games can be played at varying levels of difficulty. The easiest of which displays all cards and eliminates the need to remember anything. The trickiest level has all cards face down and will only be turned over for a very short time. It also displays only the fraction and the pie chart graphic is removed.
Overall, it’s a good way of practising fractions and improving memory at the same time. It’s quite a dull game and it would benefit from an injection of colour, fun and an incentive to keep playing.
